Introducing: San Francisco FrontRunners East and West!

Same City, Twice the Club!

We are excited to announce a major step for our club.

As many of you know, our membership is growing at an amazing rate, and we have come to an important decision: We are going to form a second club in San Francisco to help spread membership more evenly through the city, and better-suit the needs based on where you live.

We are forming San Francisco FrontRunners East, and San Francisco FrontRunners West!

To better-illustrate the coming change, view the map below:

If you live West of the yellow divider line, you will become a member of San Francisco FrontRunners West, and if you live East, you will become a member of San Francisco FrontRunners East. Each club will still do some combined activities and occasional runs, but we’ll now be able to set up runs and events closer to where you live.

Not only will we be creating two clubs from one, we have also already begun forming Boards for each club to help make the transition as smooth as possible. The current 2013 Board will be heading SFFR East. We are ecstatic to announce that Dominic Paris and Mike deLeon will be the President and Vice President of SFFR West!

What happens now? We’ll be unrolling the new websites for both clubs in the following week, and will have a calendar of the transition and how you will transfer between clubs based on your address. There will be no additional cost to change, so fear not.

We thank you for your patience through this exciting step in our club’s history… We are setting the foundation for two amazing FrontRunners clubs!

SFFR Board Appoints Rob Maier as 2013 SFFR Officer-At-Large!

The search is over!

Rob Maier has gratiously accepted the role of Officer-At-Large on the 2013 SF FrontRunners Board.

Rob has been an absolute joy to the club, and we are excited to work with him and see his ideas on club events and decisions.

The club will have an official vote on Saturday, March 23rd, following the regular Saturday walks/runs, so please be there to vote and show your support.

We’ll be getting a Runner Bio on Rob to you soon, so stay tuned!

New SFFR.ORG Feature - Member Business Network

A new feature exclusively for SFFR Members!

While we have our member directory and other features that make it easy to connect, there has always been a desire to have a networking element to our site and membership. Free advertising and networking to fellow members can be an extremely useful resource, whether you are looking for a dentist and want to check the membership before looking online, or you just started a new service or company and want to spread the word among our members.

If you are a registered SFFR Member, you now have access to the Member Business Network (link) which is found in the Members pulldown on our site. There you will find other members’ business cards and information. All of this is optional and no one will be added without their permission. This page will also most certainly evolve and organize as more members contribute to the page.

For now, head over to the new section and see how you can become involved with the page and submit your own information to contribute to the new feature!

This new feature, like any feature on our site, is always open to change and input, so never hesitate to provide feedback by sending it to board@sffr.org

Enjoy!
